Daaj (2016)

In this series, the assembled, temporal and unstable objects that have been left for hours or days at some corners of the city captured my attention. I used my camera’s flash to highlight a fragment of city, isolate it from its surroundings while develop a new connection between them. For me, these objects somehow relate to my own precarious and insecure life in Tehran.
I chose specific time for capturing these photo because the border of day and night which lasts no more than couple of minutes, intensified the suspenseful and the chaotic atmosphere of the city for me.
“Daaj” means night’s darkness in Persian.
