“Batten” is Nooshin Shafiee’s third exhibition at Emkan. Tehran, ephemeral situations, and how they look photographed are the linking thread of these three series. 
If “Daj” represents the city as melancholic and benighted and “funfair” depicts it being drowned in its temporary gaudiness, now, in current works, we are faced with yet another “Tehran”. This time the city’s skeleton is being revealed, with battens and fastenings, that while holding this construction together, are very likely to break down any moment.
